A Season and Time for Every Purpose

Spring is upon us and with all the perennials and trees blooming out, we can’t help but think about the Season’s of Life. “For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose…a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance…” Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Kyle and KellyJust as a particular season of life can bring us so much joy and happiness as new things happen, we also go through seasons that bring sadness and sorrow. We may have new births in the family, or a new job, new spouse or new relationships which can all bring us joy. On the reverse, we also deal with loss and hardships in life, such as the loss of family or friends.

We often think about people or circumstances and wonder why some people have to go through what they do. Thinking about all the hardships, life can seem so hard and cruel; but knowing that it will only last a season and by changing our focus to life’s blessings, is what helps gives us peace.

Kyle and KellyWe think of Kelly and his friend Kyle. As young teenagers, Kelly and Kyle were close friends, almost like brothers. Then years passed up until Kelly was paralyzed, when Kyle showed up to love and encourage Kelly and to bring him to his family benefit dinner. Once again years passed, life got busy and Kelly and Kyle lost touch.

Fast forward 15 years, when Kyle was faced with a devastating diagnosis of ALS. Who would have ever thought they’d both be in power wheelchairs at age 42. The bond between them was there. At this time in their life, their friendship was needed more than ever. Now that Kyle is gone, we reminisce about that bitter sweet season in their lives where they were meant to once again help each other through a tough time.

Kyle and KellyIt’s so important to be aware of the “seasons” in your life. When you are facing hardships and struggling, know that nothing is forever and it too shall pass. Also, pay attention when others come into your life or when you’re put in their life for a purpose. We know without a doubt that Kelly and Kyle were put in each other’s lives to help each other through these traumatic situations.

Being aware and taking the time to be a true friend can make all the difference in helping someone, or them helping you, get through a tough season in life. As we celebrate Easter tomorrow, we are thankful for the people God has placed in our lives and for the hope of new beginnings because of what Jesus has done for us. We hope you enjoy each day of what this new season of spring brings.

Love, The Taylors
